REFLECTIONS OF A(mirror)ICA is our artistic interpretation of some of the more sensitive subjects that America is currently dealing with, or has dealt with in its short history. We feel that the first step to fixing a problem is admitting that there is a problem to begin with. The designs might make some people cringe or chuckle, but the clothing will be THOUGHT PROVOKING, conversation sparking and visually entertaining.

We see more military recruiters than college recruiters in schools in the hood so we had to let you know what ARMY really stands for: Always Recruiting Minority Youth. And the people that make the decision to go to war are usually the complete opposite.

Stats & Facts: Thanks to the No Child Left Behind Act, recruiters have access to students’ contact information, including home addresses and telephone numbers. <[#.#]>

Raekwon told us a long time ago and it still applies today. The Boys have had a long history of harassing law abiding citizens for "fitting the description", and other felonious reasons. So keep your head on the swivel and... Look Out For the Cops!

Stats & Facts: From 2009 to 2010 there were 382 fatalities linked to police misconduct in the US. <[#.#]>

Color: Suspect Black & Not Guilty White

We all know our country wasn’t “discovered”, it was taken. In our version of Howard Chandler Christy’s famous depiction of the signing of the Constitution, we added our own signature style by calling a spade, a spade: our “Founding Fathers” are actually the Takers. No sugar coating going on over here.

Stats & Facts: Our Constitution is the oldest written constitution in operation in the world. <[#.#]>

America Deals Hella Drugs. Prescriptions for ADHD are up more than 50% in the last decade. You can either believe that the need is increasing or the greed is increasing. Big Pharma doesn’t care which you believe because they’ve got the government under their billion dollar thumb.

Stats & Facts: In 2007 it was recorded that one person died every 19 minutes from prescription drug overdose in the US. <[#.#]>

Just because he's in a square doesn't mean he is one.

We flipped the logo. Literally.

What, do we have to spell it out for you?

Allow us to reintroduce ourselves...

Posted on August 29, 2013 by Al Gebra

Location: Los Angeles by way of Las Vegas

Noun |maTH-adikts|

Slogan: Do Your Math!

Mission Statement: Thought Provoking Clothing

Who or what is a MathAddict? A person that is analytical, forward-thinking, and overall up on Game.

In the first design I wrote "MATHADDICTS" in all caps 4 times in each direction, lining up the "H" in math with the "I" in addicts. They lined up perfectly to make a pound sign! No matter which way I looked at the design, it read correctly. I thought that this couldn't be an accident and from that day forward I decided I had a clothing line. That was the Summer of 04, waaaay before the hashtag craze.

First Design:

The face of MATHADDICTS "AL Gebra":

Meaning of Logo: Being attracted to symbolism and reason, I developed our main logo who is named "AL Gebra". He is composed of a less than "<" and a greater than ">" symbol for ears, which represents that your greatest tool is between your ears. Two brackets "[    ]" make his head. There are two pound signs for his eyes separated by a decimal point "#.#" because I see things in numbers. Last but not least is a parenthesis on its side, because there is always a reason to smile. The result is a simple character that is symmetrical and symbolizes our brand.

Past Designs (i.e Shit that you've missed):

9-11 Launch

Posted on August 21, 2013 by Al Gebra

And we are back on...

I know that we've been gone for a minute, but trust that it was for the greater whole. If you are a returning MathAddict, welcome back. Or if you are a new MathAddict, welcome. Around these parts we are prepping for our first launch in two years. There has been hella brain power, time and resources dedicated to the cultivation of this season. Right now we are taking presale orders for the products that will drop on 9-11. So if you want to be one of the first people to obtain this season's heat, click over to the shop. I'm not really the one for being too wordy on the keys so I hope that you'll like, love and cop the items we put together for this Fall. And if you don't, no hard feelings, it probably wasn't made for you in the first place. Tell a friend to tell a friend that MATHADDICTS is back on the scene.
